So today I received a text from my loving sister that read "It looks like you stopped the whole blog thing." Thanks, Al. I take that as a personal challenge to get better at keeping this blog up to date. I mean... the 8 of you out there that read this blog deserve better!
My friend
Kinze put it best when she said, "for me it's all about being a mom right now and enjoying life with my family!" I agree completely. These babies of mine aren't babies anymore. Case-in point: Henry walked up to me yesterday and in plain english said, "Hi, how are you?" Ummm, he's 18 mo old!! And Norah walks up to Henry and asks him if he has a poopy diaper, then proceeds to check by looking down the back! I can tell Norah's changing so much by listening to her prayers at night. They're very specific and realistic. "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth." 3John 1:4
Joel's keeping busy working with the youth group at church. Last weekend they had a dance which went very very well. He said all the kids had a blast and they'll definitely have dances each year from now on. When I asked Joel if he danced he said "Yes, I danced to 'YMCA' and the 'Cha-Cha Slide.' I'm so proud of him... even if he is becoming an old geezer!!!
In three weeks from today, I will run my first half-marathon. I'm getting very excited. I can now run 11 miles without dying or taking any walking breaks. I have two goals for this race: 1. Run the whole thing 2. Finish in under 2 hours 5 minutes. I hope I can achieve both goals but, if not, I think I'll still have a great time!
So, that's what we're up to... and now, a few pictures..
These first couple pictures of Norah were taken the day before Easter. She builds towers faster than the speed of light(almost) and is so good at putting puzzles and shape sorter type toys together.
Once she's done building, she guards her creation from Henry. If he sees a tower, he immediately sprints toward it with his little arms flailing all over the place.... to Norah's dismay.
The day before Easter, Joel and I loaded the eggs for our egg hunt. I SO enjoy doing this stuff for the kids, they are at such fun ages.
Normally we travel to see family for Easter but, this year we decided that we wanted to stay put. As much as I missed family and all the laughter and great stuff that comes with visiting them, I was completely ok with staying home. I felt like Holy Week never got lost like it sometimes does in the shuffle. I was able to spend so much time reflecting on God's glory and Jesus' love for me. I guess Psalm 46:10 would fit here "Be still and know that I am God."
Easter morning, after we got back from church the kids got their gifts. They each got a box jam-packed full of stuff from my parents. I think it took them the entire day to take everything out and look at it. Thanks Mom & Dad!!
These shades have been a big hit!
Self-timer family picture.:)
I have no idea how to fix this picture... I've changed and saved the right-side up version in 'my pictures' folder... I guess it's time to admit I have a problem..... I'm computer illiterate. Sorry.
We had a delicious meal.
After lunch, Joel hid the eggs then yelled "Release the
hounds kids!" They got really into the egg hunt which I was SO happy to see. Norah even shared a couple of her eggs with Henry... that girl knows exactly how to melt her mama's heart.
Henry is very smart and he has a great memory. After the first hunt(36 eggs hid and found) I hid them for a second hunt. Henry immediately ran back to each spot where he had found eggs during the first round.
Once Norah realized some of the eggs had jelly-beans in them... she probably regretted giving some of her eggs to Henry. :)
Our day was blessed and I hope yours was too!!!
