We learned many lessons this week at our house....Mom learned the first lesson of the week. She found out that I enjoy playing in toilet water just as much as pool water so, always make sure the lid is down!
When I was stuffed up last week, Dad put the humidifier on the floor in my room. It worked great at night but, Dad learned Mom wasn't kidding when she said I could tip it over. 20 minutes later Dad was wiping water up off my carpet. Oops, sorry about that!On laundry day, I discovered that I prefer chewing on socks rather than my teething rings!! I still haven't had any top teeth break through yet.... maybe the sock will help:) Friday night was a rough night at our house and we're blaming it on teething and a strange thunderstorm that popped up at 3 am!! I learned that Mom and Dad don't think it's as cute when I stand on their bed at 4am. The rest of the weekend was filled with rest and playing around the house.I hope everyone had a great week!

Good Morning!!
Mom and Dad think I'm hilarious when I wake up for the day. Stretching, cuddling, snuggling, smelling my blanket, laying with my rump in the air- it's all part of my morning routine. Here are a few pictures Mommy took last week of me waking up.
Just a few more minutes Mommy???
Daddy used to suck on his bottom lip when he was little too!! And, Mommy used to hold her blanket up by her nose like this! They smile when they see their old mannerisms in me.
Just about done here....
Okay, I'm ready for the day!!! I hope Grandma and Grandpa Scholand are ready for me and my antics!!

Daddy's Day Weekend!!
Last weekend I really tried to show Daddy how much I love and appreciate him, with a ton of kisses and hugs. I stuck to Dad like glue as you can see from the pictures below!
Mind if I sit under your chair Dad??
Just about in...
I love when Daddy tosses me into the air like this!!!
Weeeeee!!!!
Father's Day morning!! I slept in until 8:30 because I was so worn out from swimming at the big city pool on Saturday. We had so much fun swimming and Daddy even went on the big waterslides and diving board!!! We all rallied and pretty soon Grandma Brenda went down the waterslide!!!
Grandma Brenda bought me this Little People cart full of blocks for my 1st birthday while she was here. I've been having a blast playing with the blocks but, even more fun when Daddy pulls me around in the cart!I sure do love my Daddy!!
Three generations!!! Can you tell my Grandma is from Florida??! 90 degrees and long sleeves!!:)Grandma Brenda was able to come and stay with us for 6 days last week. We had such a great time together and can't wait to see Grandma again next month!!!You really are the World's Best Daddy!! I'm serious Dad!

This Week
This past week I've kept busy mimicking Mom and Dad. I've been waving, dancing, clapping, kissing, making strange indian noises with my hand patting my mouth, pretending to talk on the phone, and the list goes on....I'm always smiling when I'm in my highchair. What new foods will they feed me next??? This past week I've taken a liking to sloppy joes, tator tot casserole, and blueberry eggos. I can't believe Mom and Dad were eating these foods the whole time without me!!Can you see how big I'm getting?? I'm just starting to wear some of my 12 month summer clothes; many of which were gifts we opened when we came home from the hospital. Aunt Allison gave me this cute pick onesie.
Mom's busy growing too!!! Here she's 23 weeks preggo with my brother and ready for Turkeyfest over in Tremont!!
Isn't this silly--I try to see how far I can crawl without letting my knees touch the ground.
Last Saturday was a rainy day so Dad and I kept busy fixing things around the house. First project, lowering my mattress in my crib so I can't hop out!! Here we were fixing Mom's curling iron. Dad said he didn't need help with this but, I stayed close by just in case....
I hope everyone has had a great week!! We picked Grandma Brenda up at the airport last night so we're sure to have a great weekend!!Tuesday, June 8, 2010
11 Months!!
This past month I've been busy growing, playing, and learning new things!! I have mastered pulling up on, well, everything. I can even stand on my own for a few seconds!! My balance is getting good and my reaction time has improved. Now, if I feel that I'm starting to fall I can usually catch myself. June may just be the month I decide to take a couple steps!!! I'll keep you posted.:) I smile more now than ever before but, I also have a very serious face when I'm concentrating.
Can you believe I'm almost a WHOLE YEAR old?!?
Just trying to look at the newspaper here.... Can I help you take that picture???
Playing in my room.
Still crawling between the totes...
My eyes are hazel now but, sometimes they still look slate in pictures.
Thanks Reid and Melissa for the beautiful dress!!
You can usually find me sitting in front of the washer/dryer on laundry day!! I love watching the clothes spin fast. Sometimes Mommy sits with me and we have a little snack together.Dad and I act so silly during bathtime! Helping Dad load the dishwasher!! I'm such a good helper!! And speaking of dishes, I'm dirtying more these days too. I've became a huge fan of yogurt, peaches, grapes, chunks of string cheese, puffs, turkey, wheat bread, banana chunks, cornbread, and the list goes on. Mom's still nursing me and I get rice cereal in the evenings before bed. I've been slowly but surely gaining weight and, I'm now a whopping 18lbs. 4 oz.Mom thinks these pjs look pretty cute on me.The Giffey's stayed with us last week and look what Aunt Gail caught Gunnar wearing!! I sometimes wear those sunglasses when I swim outside in my pool.

Windy City Fun!
Memorial Day Weekend was such a fun time around here!!! Our friends Melissa and Reid drove 11 hours to stay with us on Thursday and we had a great time showing them around the Peoria area. Friday we all celebrated Melissa's 27th birthday at Olive Garden. I know now why there's so much hype for Olive Garden- the breadsticks are delicious!!!
Saturday morning we all hoped in the car and drove up to Chicago. We parked outside the city and took the train in. First stop was the Willis(Sears) Tower. We went all the way up to the 103rd floor.Mommy was 21 weeks preggo with my brother here.WOW! What a great view of the city!!Daddy found this quiet spot for us to have a few minutes to enjoy the view. Finding a "quiet spot" in the Sears Tower was the hard part on a Saturday afternoon!!! Next stop was Giordanos, to get some Chicago style pizza. I guess we weren't the only ones hungry for pizza because there was a long wait. We had fun outside though and, both Mommy and Daddy starting acting a little silly. Here, Mommy's trying to steal my blanket!Come here Mom, so I can give you a big kissey!!!Dad's modeling his new shoes.
We did lots of walking after eating this pizza!!!After lunch, I was ready for a nap in my stroller so we walked over to Millenium Park and checked out the giant bean.Daddy was nice enough to carry me on his shoulders...... it was awesome!!!I can see why they call Chicago the "Windy City!" We were walking towards the Navy Pier in these pictures. I think I must've been trying to hail a cab here.:)We stayed in a hotel on Saturday night and Sunday Melissa and Reid went to the Cubs game. I went with Mom and Dad to the Museum of Science and Industry and then we walked over to the beach. It was another fun day but, Sunday night I was happy to get home and sleep in my crib!!I'm not a big fan of getting sunblock put on my face as you can see.
The Museum of Science and Industry(i.e.- Dad's favorite part of the weekend)The Beach. Our stay here was pretty short because I was exhausted. I fell asleep as soon as we got back to the car.I think I'll enjoy the beach more after a nice long nap. zzzz
