Changing Seasons....

I've been seeing the signs for a while now.... first my pool got put away, then I had to wear pants on an early morning walk with Mommy, yesterday the corn field outside my window was harvested, and Mom's been trying all sorts of "warm" clothes on me. Today she tried putting a stocking cap on me and I couldn't get it off fast enough. I was completely perplexed when she put some socks on my feet! Yesterday, she ordered some long sleeve clothes for Henry and I and....even a snowsuit for Henry!!

That's right.... Fall is coming! Even though it's 87 degrees here on this particular day; we are getting exciting for the changing seasons. It's been so nice in the evenings that, sometimes we eat dinner a little early then, play outside until my bath at 7:30. I'm still not sure what to think about long pants...I swear I don't remember wearing them! Here are some pictures of me from this past week.... soaking up the last few days of summer.
Thanks for the cute dress Keith and Kathy!!Little bookworm. Mom and I have even become "regulars" at the library here in town! I mainly go there to socialize though.... Mommy finds me some pretty good cardboard books for us to checkout.
Sleepy morning....

It's been about 4 months since I've worn long pants.
What are these things anyway?!

HEY! You need help out there??

Looks like a good crop this year.:)

Preparing For Henry

Last week Mom posted a lengthy "To Do" list on the fridge of jobs we need to get done before my brother arrives. Seriously, like 50 daunting tasks. Some of Daddy's jobs were stain the deck and put Henry's crib together. Mommy's jobs involve some deep cleaning and a couple sewing projects.... don't think I forgot about those seatbelt covers you promised me Mom!!

Anyway, this past weekend we got quite a few jobs done, I even helped set up the crib(job #21). Can you believe I'm going to have a roomate??
Just reading some instructions for Daddy...

Henry's crib is the same as mine!! Now he just needs a mattress, some bedding, and Mom to sew him a crib skirt(job #15).
Daddy was up staining the deck(job #5) a couple hours before I woke up for the day!! Great job Daddy!

Are you sure he doesn't need my help??

Mom's now just over 33 weeks along.... I hope brother doesn't mind me using him as a seat!!

More Updates

I almost have you updated on all my latest happenings!! I just got another tooth on top a couple days ago- current count: 3 top and 2 bottom. I'm sleeping from about 8pm-9am and my new favorite treats are fruit chillers and wildberry smoothies from McDonalds. I will do absolutely anything to make Mommy and Daddy laugh, including walking around with a bucket on my head!!
So big!! I stopped doing this for a few months but, now I throw those arms up, Mom or Dad says SOOOO BIG, then I clap.
It was just before bedtime on night when I decided to put this bucket on my head and walk around the living room!
Anybody out there???

Have I mentioned it's getting harder for Mom to get a good picture of me? I'm too much of a goofball!

Shoes!!!

A couple weeks ago I finally jumped on the bandwagon and started wearing shoes!! Mom and Dad took me shopping and I got the perfect pair; soft white leather shoes that feel like slippers! It was a big day for us all- Dad felt so proud of his little girl, Mom took a million pictures, and I couldn't help but feel "SOOO BIG"(as you can tell by the pictures). Here are some pictures of me with my new shoes on, we even went to the park to try them out! Here's a closeup for your viewing pleasure. A medium(6-12mo.) pair of genuine leather Ministars. And the leather dries quite nicely.....I may or may not have climbed in my pool with these on a couple days ago...One proud owner of a new pair of shoes!!

Soooo Big!!!! As much as I enjoyed swinging, I had work to do. I needed to take these new shoes for a spin!!
So far, so good.
Daddy and I took a little break to watch a couple barges pass by.It was a great day!

It's Official

Many have asked us what we plan on naming my little brother. In May, when we first found out the baby was a boy, we thought of Henry Michael. When Mom had 100% certainty before her 20 week ultrasound that I was going to be a boy, they were going to name me Henry Michael. Well, both Mom and Dad still love the name so we think that's a good sign.

So, unless the baby comes out and looks like Michael, Charlie, Oliver, or a Joel.... we're sticking with Henry! Mom's 33 weeks today and feeling great! She had a doctor's appointment last Wednesday and everything looked good. Baby measured about a week ahead. She told Dad and I that from now on, I would be hanging out with Dad while Mom went to appointments. I guess Mom didn't enjoy me throwing all my toys/snacks on the ground as much as I did. She says it's hard to bend down such a HUGE belly. Mom has another appointment in one week.... I've got a date with Daddy!

I'll be updating you all much more in these next couple days... there's been some big changes going on in the Skalet house... including a second crib in my room!!

Recent Pictures

Since I started walking earlier this month, I have been one busy little bee. Here are some random pictures from the last few weeks.

Even though I love walking and carrying my toys from room to room, I still sit down several times a day with my books. Sometimes I'll show Mommy the book and she'll read to me but, sometimes I just turn the pages and look at the pictures.
And, when I finish reading, I put the books in the bathtub, by the door, in the dryer if it's open, in Mom and Dad's closet, etc. This is me requesting a bookshelf made by Daddy.:)
Mommy found me wearing my pj shirt like this one morning last week. I guess I was trying to get dressed for the day!
Stella, I'm brushing my teeth everyday.Mom, how come I don't get to use the mouthwash?!
Mom was sitting close by but, I didn't need any help.... climbing on boxes has become a favorite past time of mine!! Also notice, I try to avoid looking at the camera these days... this drives Mom and Dad crazy!! hehe

Just before dinner is when I usually get into all sorts of trouble.... Dad's just getting home from work and Mommy's getting dinner ready.
I've had my eye on this cabinet for some time now and this was the day that I finally climbed in!!

Taking a little break on my block cart.

Hmmm, what kind of mischief can I get into next?!
