Here's a little update on what our family's up to....
Norah keeps busy with crafts while Henry takes his morning nap. She loves using stickers, beads, foam craft kits, pens and crayons to make her creations. When we don't do crafts, we play her Sesame Street Memory game, do puzzles, or play downstairs with toys so we don't disturb Henry.
She's made us plenty of these door hangers. She's always happy to give away her creations. Just today she made Henry a door hanger consisting of cross stickers, skating snowmen stickers and cloud stickers, needless to say, he loved it!
Valentine's Day is quickly approaching so Norah's making some necklaces/bracelets for loved ones!
She's very meticulous and has good dexterity... when we bought these beads I thought I'd have to help her get them on the string but, she doesn't need any help at all.... and she'll even tell you that too, "Norah do!"
This has helped her learn her colors better too! As she puts a bead on the string she names the color.
Henry loves trying on Joel's snowboarding helmet.
Thanks so much to everyone who sent us a Christmas card!! We absolutely love getting them and we've read each letter several times. Here, Norah's reading them one last time before we packed them away.
Norah's doing awesome with potty-training. She hasn't worn a diaper in two weeks! Yes,two weeks! We've had a few accidents and we still put a pull-up on her for naps and bedtime(it's always dry after her nap!). Go Norah Go!!! In the beginning, remembering to put Norah on the potty was quite a task, but it was a welcomed distraction from thinking about the miscarriage. We were so focused on the schedule of Norah's body... and when Norah goes on the potty, there's dancing, clapping, an m&m, and high fives. Norah deserves these celebrations and we're happy to give them to her. Henry usually comes running from whatever he's playing with to give Norah a big high-five. This makes Norah SO proud and confident.
I've gotten the itch to get rid of clothes and other items around the house that aren't getting worn/used. Above is the stuff I got rid of out of my closet. The bag went to goodwill and the stack of clothes will be repurposed... the jeans will all be used in the jeans quilt I'm going to make this year.
You may be wondering why most of my pictures of Henry involve him sitting in his highchair. Well, this kid is very fast..... most of my pictures of him playing end up pretty blurry because he does not..... I repeat he does not stay in the same place for long. This little boy is busy!
Look at all those teeth!!
Henry's learning new things and new words everyday. Today he's busy saying: juice please, up please, bye bye, nigh nigh, Jesus, truck, veggietales(we know what he means!), ball, mama, dad, jake(his stuffed lamb), God, sorry(sounds sketchy but we know what he means), and most recently "popcorn". Henry loves to give big hugs and he's a pretty cuddly boy(this week especially). I'm finding more of this cute little boy patting my leg saying "up please."To say that we're proud of our kiddos would be such an understatement. They bring an incredible amount of joy to our days.
Little brother loves popcorn and, so does big sis. They request it for snack every afternoon.
See the blurr??? Norah and Henry run around the house holding hands alot these days... and they laugh hystrically... which melts my heart.
I'm about half-way done with the quilt I'm making for Norah... I can't wait to finish it and give it to her! Joel's busy planning a ski/snowboarding trip for the confirmation class he teaches.
That's what's new with us. Have a blessed day!

Why I Love Religion, And Love Jesus
Here's a pretty neat response to a recent youtube video, that you may've heard of....
Have you seen this??
My goal for this weekend is to get this blog updated! I've been piecing together what I want to say about the miscarriage and this greiving process and hopefully my post will be ready by Sunday. Also, there's lots of pictures of Norah and Henry to put up but..... today this is what I knew needed to be posted!
This morning at Community Bible Study(CBS), this video was shown in the opening. If you have eleven minutes to spare... your time would not be wasted by watching this...
Awhile back, Joel put a post-it note on our computer that reads "God loves you just as you are, but loves you too much to leave you that way." I'm not sure whose quote this is but, I'm sure glad Joel posted it!!

Loss.
We were 13 weeks pregnant last week when we found out that our sweet baby was no longer with us... we had miscarried.
We rest only in the Truth that our baby is safe in the arms of Jesus. I have so many thoughts about losing this sweet baby of mine... maybe in time it won't be so hard to write/talk about.... but, it's hard now. Joel and I have never experienced anything this painful, we are both devastated. I ask that you lift us up in prayer... that God will continue to pour out His love and grace on us.... also that we may find peace and understanding. I can feel God's presence all around me, and it's in Him that we will begin to heal.
"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted , saves those whose spirit is crushed." Psalms 34:19
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
